Much as it pains me to upbraid and correct a fellow LRC blogger, I feel I must do so with regard to Michael Rozeff’s WILD overestimate of how many economists are statists. His estimate of 99.99% is just plain wrong, and an unconscionable slur on our profession. I have conducted empirical research on this matter, and I have concluded that the actual figure is a far lower 99.44%. (I got this off those old Ivory Soap commercials.) Who says Austrian economists can’t do empirical work??!! So, Mike, stick to your own specialty, finance, and don’t come over to our economic turf and try to bad mouth us.
