You read that right.
Rasmussen released a national scientific poll this morning pitting Ron Paul in a match-up with Barack Obama, and they are in a virtual tie.
In a head-to-head match-up, Ron Paul gets 41% against Obama’s 42% (11% prefer someone else, and 6% are undecided).
The poll shows that Republicans don’t support Ron Paul (66%) to the same extent that Democrats support Obama (79%), but independent voters favor Ron Paul over the President almost 2-to-1.
Twenty-four percent (24%) of voters now consider themselves a part of the Tea Party movement, an eight-point increase from a month ago. Another 10% say they are not a part of the movement but have close friends or family members who are.
