The most interesting thing about the prolonged power outages is how well traffic flows at major intersections WITHOUT traffic lights and police. People make eye contact and wave each other through. The only intersections that I’ve seen get worse are the ones where Nassau County police have setup cones and flares and have re-routed the flow of traffic “for safety reasons.”
