Remembering Burt

The late Burton S. Blumert was quite a guy. A businessman and intellectual, he was as wise as anyone I have ever encountered, and very generous with his time and counsel. He was also funny and learned. As president of the Center for Libertarian Studies, publisher of The Rothbard-Rockwell Report and LewRockwell.com, and chairman of the Mises Institute and the first Ron Paul presidential campaign, he played a huge role in the libertarian movement of the last four decades, and in Murray’s, Ron’s, and my life. As a gold dealer, he helped thousands protect themselves against the feds and the Fed. He was also a writer of real talent. He died one year ago today, at age 80. Burt, rest in peace.
