Regulating like it’s 1918

This is the Great Moment, the Big One for the CDC. All the mini-dictators are pretending that it is 1918 all over again — and hoping against hope that this is not yet another “fizzle.” The CDC has this wonderful emergency mechanism in place and what good are emergency powers if people don’t cooperate and get really, really sick?

As I wrote five years ago, this is nothing more than an excuse for government to seize even more power in its ever-occurring quest to grab more authority and to push individuals around. This is NOT 1918 (a subject which I addressed in my article), but I imagine that the regulators at the CDC and in Washington wish it were.
