Regimentation = strict and inflexible control. They are all horrid, and they all stem from the misguided War on Terror, the Patriot Act, and the Department of Homeland Security. I received many helpful e-mails. The states are phasing in the driver’s license requirements by 2017 because of the Real ID Act.
Here’s an amusing story: A man in Missouri brought in a record of live birth with his baby footprints on it to renew his driving license. This wasn’t good enough. He had to go to the county health department to get a birth certificate. As proof of his identity, they accepted his current driver’s certificate! In Maine, another gentleman paid $15 some time back for a birth certificate. He hears the price is now as high as $60! That is not so funny. The T-shirt industry is alive and well producing TSA protest shirts. For examples, see here, here, and here, or search on google. It might be possible to create clothing made from materials that resist electromagnetic fields, but x-rays may penetrate them. See here. To protect against a taser, there is Thor Shield. It’s of interest that police and military can buy this but not the public. A black market will surely arise. A good many e-mailers endorse the DO NOT FLY AT ALL position. In my opinion, there are many ways to skin a cat and one size does not fit all. Protesting by ANY means, boycotting, ridiculing the TSA, letter-writing campaigns, symbolic acts, distributing 4th amendment leaflets, wearing inpenetrable jocks or breast coverings, sporting T-shirts — they all energize and empower a cowed population. They all identify power being actively misused. They all resist. Legal actions have to be very well thought out in order to succeed. The courts have thwarted even the best-constructed cases against the FED and gold seizure. The court system is despotic. It is a logical target for more fundamental resistance and change.
