It’s known as “preventive detention” — an extension of “preventive wars” — based on the presumption that an otherwise harmless person must prove that he or she is no danger to others, . . . you know, the logic upon which the TSA operates! As we just saw in Colorado, since the state cannot predict behavior in a complex world, everyone has to be treated as though they are threats to others. Take away any and all means by which one person could harm another — guns today, belt-buckles tomorrow. How else are we gonna’ have a free society?
