Will: Bob Dylan’s treatment at the hands of the police is but one of the many, many examples of the conflict that necessarily arises from people identifying themselves through their race, ethnicity, nationality, etc. I focused on this problem in my book Calculated Chaos. Catch what is said towards the end of the story: Dylan was “acting suspiciously.” Why? Because he was walking in “an ethnic Latin area and the residents felt he didn’t fit in.”
