Re: The New York Times

Bill: I wonder if the New York Times would consider adopting the same policies it advocates as solutions to the nation’s current economic mess, to resolve the problems of declining subscriptions and advertising that threaten it and other newspapers? If more inflation is a viable means of restoring economic health to America, would increasing the price of the Times be a way of attracting more readers? Would increased advertising rates attract more advertisers? If nationalization would solve the problems of the recession, might having the New York City government confiscate the Times restore its pretended sense of journalistic integrity? Perhaps Paul Krugman could weigh in on such questions.

When the decline and fall comes, just make certain you’re not standing beneath an institution, particularly the New York Times!
