But controlling debit cards is not enough, Huebert. Indeed, in the name of progress, we must make sure that people use only cash (instead of cards, which are easy to abuse!). Come to think of it. That won’t suffice. No, we must go further. The state should determine the proper cash allowance that consumers must be given lest they overspend. Every day, people ought to line up at their local bank-welfare-employment office, fill out no less than five to seven forms, and be given a government-approved amount of government tokens to spend. Hopefully this is enough to satisfy the New York Times. Hopefully.
