Poletown is typical of most cases of eminent domain where people’s property are taken and neighborhoods are uprooted for the benefit of a big business. Thus, eminent domain represents another form of cooperate welfare and further proof that Rand didn’t know what she was talking about when she called big business “America’s Most Persecuted Minority.”

BTW– Wal-Mart and Target are two of the biggest beneficiaries of eminent domain. I wonder if these stores would have been as successful if they had to obtain all the land for their stores from willing sellers.
