Will, In about six months after all the HOPE! turns into DESPAIR!, Obama won’t be talking so loosely. Remember in 1991 when George Bush The First was waxing philosophical about not liking broccoli? He had about an 80% approval then. He was singing a different tune about a year later.
Of course, just because the rhetoric may change doesn’t mean anything else will.
