Obama’s ultimate goal, as he has said, is the nationalization of health care, with government eventually being the “single payer.” Following the Canadian and British models, it will be “free” in the sense the public schools are “free.” It will be paid for by hidden taxes. Both economic theory and history teach us that under such a system demand will skyrocket, which will in turn cause a cost explosion. Former Senator Phil Gramm’s admonition fifteen years ago that “there’s not enough money in the world to pay for the Clinton health plan” applies equally to the Obama health “plan.”
So what was Obama’s sales pitch today? That the nationalization of health care is necessary to reduce the federal budget deficit since it will supposedly get health care costs under control. This is exactly the opposite of the truth, as documented for generations by other countries that have suffered under “single payer health care.” Obama is as reckless, egomaniacal, and irresponsible as he is ignorant of economics. Every single thing he has done so far, from the nationalization of banks and car companies to his push for health care socialism accompanied by the threat of massive new taxes has been absolutely ruinous of the American economy. He reminds me of the Chilean socialist Allende who completely ruined that country’s economy in a few short months by immediately instituting socialism in the 1970s. We’ve got a lot more capital built up than Chile did in those days, so it will take The Messiah a little longer than that to destroy what’s left of American capitalism — the stated goal of his former co-workers at ACORN.
