Our friend Gil Guillory, an engineer who works for a company that is doing work in Iraq, spent some time there last year. He writes me that one of his “privileges” was to use the U.S. Army postal system, such as it is. He mailed a letter home in late September and it arrived right on time . . . . . this February.

I recommend that the U.S. Army try hot air balloons as mail delivery devices; it’s bound to speed up the process.
