David, I’ve been haunted by that recording since I listened to it yesterday. What I heard was the sound of a man’s spirit being broken.
In the comments section on the video, some said the Canadian man was being a jerk, and at least one commenter thought that this somehow justified jail time. I did not think he was much of a jerk; although he was, of course, not licking the boots of the goon interviewing him. What he did and said took courage — many would have had the same thoughts about those ridiculous questions if we were in his shoes, but we wouldn’t have the guts to speak our mind and stand our ground. This man remained calm until what sounds like the bullies started harassing his wife.
But, at the very end, they broke him. His tone of voice changed and he stopped speaking his mind and started agreeing with everything the uniformed kidnapper said to him. This of course is the goal of the tax-eaters in DHS and other police organizations. Obey. Grovel. Don’t think.
