Lew: This Baltimore physician reflects the attitude which, alone, will put a stop to all this statist nonsense: just say “NO!” Whether he is aware of it or not, he has provided one example upon which some of his work colleagues may draw for emotional support.
At times such as these, it is instructive to read—or re-read—Milton Mayer’s important work, They Thought They Were Free. Mayer lived in Germany, following the end of World War II, and spent his time getting to know ordinary Germans, and asking them what it was like living under Nazi tyranny. Their universal response provided the title for his book!
