Lew, the question that should come to most peoples’ minds is: What consequences will the lying members of Congress whose lies put Roger Clemens through this nightmarish legal ordeal face? The answer, of course, is: Nothing. No consequences at all for them. It was all a publicity stunt so that they could prattle on about how opposed to drug use they supposedly are and enhance their chances of reelection. In a just world every one of those lying congressional bastards would be horse whipped in public with Roger Clemens applying the first lashes.

Last night on “The Tonight Show “Jay Leno commented on this case by pointing out that Roger Clemens’s innocence proves that, on the day he went before that congressional committee, he was the only one in the room who wasn’t a liar.

UPDATE:  Chris K writes:  “How come none of those steroid pumped ‘Officer Jimmys’ [a.k.a. cops]that work for so many of our state and local police forces have not been questioned before congress?  Was there some sort of power elite privilege being violated by Mr. Clemens?”

SECOND UPDATE:  S.M. writes:  “Congress is like a creepy man who forces himself on a woman.  Congressmen have nothing to offer the world, no talent besides borrowing and stealing money to win elections, save Ron Paul only.  And so they lure people into their dark (walnut paneled) corner and force themselves on men and women who have the talent, money, success, brilliance, fame, etc. that politicians will never achieve.  They know how profoundly they are despised the world over and so they use force to get the world to look at them.  Stealing the time, and the money that can surely be spared, of a legend [Roger Clemens] must have been so satisfying.”
