Daniel: I saw a parked car, yesterday, with a large bumper-sticker “peace symbol” done up in red, white, and blue (with stars). It reminded me of  the Christmas card I saw a few years ago, in which Santa Claus was wearing a red, white, and blue outfit, or the recent blog of a Christian cross done up in red, white, and blue (with stars at the top). It’s interesting how people openly advertise their confused principles, upon which the state depends for the integration of its contradictions. I am rarely able to talk to a motorist displaying such messages — or the more common pairing of the peace symbol and Obama — but when I can do so I ask: “So, what is your preference today: war or peace?”
