Re: Brand New Idea

Christopher: Your news report reminded me of that wonderful line from the 1959 British film, I’m All Right, Jack, in which the union shop steward — played by Peter Sellers — walks into the plant manager’s office to object to the firing of a union employee. When told that the man was fired for incompetence, the steward — Fred Kite — announces: “We do not and cannot accept the principle that incompetence justifies dismissal. That is victimisation.”

Perhaps in today’s world — as the economy collapses into entropy — desperate people have no alternative but to resort to philosophic principles!
