Lew: How can these police officials even tell us about this? Isn’t using the word (do we now have to start calling it the “b-word”?) a clear example of bigoted racism? I am reminded of the news report, a few years ago, from one of the Ivy League schools, where trash containers labeled “for white paper” and “for colored paper” created an uproar, with the latter changed to read “for paper of color.” I am also reminded of the black Englishman who was referred to, in the media, as an “African-American”!
It is interesting to watch the culture collapse amidst so much mindless babbling. Why does it appear that the more formal education people receive, the greater their fear of words? Why are we so terrified of our own minds?
