re: Barbara Simpson on Moore

Anthony, funny, but despite all the claims of lying, Miss Simpson gives us not one example, though she is clearly exercised over Moore’s breaking of two taboos: showing actual wounded soldiers, and showing normal life among a demonized people about to be bombed and burned for their own good.

Miss Simpson is a sometime weekend replacement-host for Art Bell’s Coast to Coast radio show. Now (shameful admission) I like the show; if I wake up at night, it’s interesting enough to hold my attention, and not so interesting as to keep me awake (regular talk shows make me angry).

On the show, Miss Simpson happily entertains tales of flying saucers, time travelers, asteroids about to destroy the earth, sunspots about to destroy the earth, the coming end of the world as foretold in the Mayan calendar, aliens, aliens who built the pyramids. ghosts, our alien forebears from Mars, the hidden ruins of civilization on the Moon and Mars, and a 101 similar topics. It’s all good fun. The only thing that cannot be entertained is radical criticism of the US government. (Art himself has been a totalitarian Bushie since 9/11. His health forced him to give up his weeknight show, however, and his replacement, George Noory, is far better. Coast to Coast is, btw, the best-rated nighttime radio show.)
