Karen, I know things have been crazy recently, but I can’t believe this is a serious proposal. Logic, economic reasoning, and hypocrisy at their most absurd!
The progressive, environtmentalist Feinstein actually thinks that it is good for the environment to scrap old cars in large numbers because of minor improvements in gas mileage? Funny, I thought that using consumer goods for long periods of time was a good recipe for actual conservation and recycling where these goods come under the use of new owners and innovative uses. Instead, this Senator argues that unnecessary destruction and production of a resource-intensive good is going to produce a net environmental benefit.
