Re: Alexander the Neocon

Daniel McCarthy nails the problems with Oliver Stone’s glorification of Alexander. It is disappointing that a director who has given us great anti-war films (Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July) and helped increase public disbelief in the establishment’s version of the Kennedy assassination (and thus hopefully increase public skepticism of all of the state’s pronouncements) would waste $150 million on this pro-imperial yawn fest. No doubt the neocons would be embracing Stone’s film if they weren’t afraid of alienating the religious right by favorably comparing Saint W to a bisexual (another big difference between Alexander and Bush is Alexander personally lead his troops in combat.)
