Science reports that the upcoming science research budget for the NIH is “flat,” although it is getting an almost $500 million boost. But, because of the spending spree earlier this year, scientists overall are happy that the NIH, NSF, DOE, NOAA, NIST, and the EPA are on the receiving end of the wealth distribution.
Also, in case you were wondering, all food and medicine will be safe because the FDA is getting a large budget increase. Oh right…I forgot that throwing money at government agencies doesn’t actually accomplish anything.
