Praying for the Election

There is nothing more meaningless than preachers saying from the pulpit, churches printing in their bulletins, and Christians writing in e-mails to “Pray for the election.” To do so presupposes that God cares whether fascist A or fascist B, warmonger A or warmonger B, liar A or liar B, police statist A or police statist B becomes the next U.S. president.

It is like praying whether to buy a Ford or a Chevy, to eat your steak medium or rare, or to paint your house white or off white. The Lord has better things to do–like making sure all the animals get fed.
