Prayer Wheel for Our Soldiers

A reader sends this message someone sent his wife:

“Prayer wheel for our soldiers. Please don’t break it. When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say the following prayer for our troops around the world.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in time of need. And may God rest in peace those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Amen.

There is nothing attached. This can be very powerful. Just send this to all the people in your address book. Do not stop the wheel, please…Of all the gifts you could give a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Chaplain & others deployed in harm’s way, prayer is the very best one.”

Here is the conclusion of the reader’s good response to this military-worshiping nonsense:

Instead pray for the minds of those enlisted that they will not sign up for another tour. Pray that those now overseas will have an attack of conscience and ask to resign. Pray that Iraq and Iran be protected from our aggression and that the witness of mercy and reconciliation go forth and not the message of “compliance or death.” Finally, pray for the mindset of people who send out “prayer wheels” like this one. There remains a strong disconnect between their thinking and that of the Prince of Peace’s message.
