Piece by piece, Iraq is being taken over by ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria). The current trend is a piecemeal takeover of portions of Iraq by ISIS.
What should the U.S. do? It should do nothing, which is what it should also be doing in other places like Pakistan, Yemen, Syria, Africa, the China Seas, former USSR Republics and Ukraine.
The invasion of Iraq by the U.S. was folly for Americans and tragedy for both Iraqis and Americans. The folly of it was plainly visible at the time. Those senators who voted for war against Iraq blundered. Hillary Clinton was one of them. Now, because she wants to be president, she says she made a mistake: “I thought I had acted in good faith and made the best decision I could with the information I had. And I wasn’t alone in getting it wrong. But I still got it wrong. Plain and simple.” Does this admission give her a clean slate? Absolutely not. If she had learned anything fundamental about why she got it wrong and had taken steps to alter her thinking, she would not have attacked Libya. And she’d be telling us plainly and simply what the problems with any U.S. interventions are and why any of them are wrong now and go wrong.
Hillary Clinton, if she had learned anything, would not have likened Putin (regarding Crimea) to Hitler. Hillary Clinton is no more trustworthy with the powers of the presidency than have been Bush and Obama, to name only the most recent occupants of the Oval Office.10:26 am on June 10, 2014 Email Michael S.
