Rick Perry’s new economic plan would balance the budget by 2020. Wow. If Perry wins in 2012 and gets reelected in 2016, 2020 will be the last year of his presidency. What is he waiting for? Meanwhile, while he procrastinates, the debt will continue to rise until 2020. And of course, balancing the budget doesn’t necessarily mean cutting the spending. We could have balanced $4 trillion budgets. Ron Paul is right, cut $1.5 trillion in spending right away. Anyone with any sense could do that on an envelope or a napkin. Foreign aid—gone. CPB funding—gone. Dept. of Edu.—gone, etc., etc.
