Out of the Mouths of ‘Homeland Security and Counterterrorism’ Whackjobs

From an article whose headline reads “White House drafting standards to guard against cyberattack, officials say”:

Last month, John Brennan, President Barack Obama’s top adviser on homeland security and counterterrorism, said an executive order was a good vehicle to make sure “the nation is protected.”

“If the Congress is not going to act on something like this,” he said, “then the president wants to make sure that we’re doing everything possible.”

And the heck with the Constitution’s prescription for legislating.

Once upon a time, the tyrants in that mansion we buy them on Pennsylvania Ave tried to hide their dictatorship. But now they’re so contemptuous of us they brag about it instead.

Update: Shoulda read the entire article before posting, because a few paragraphs from the quote I extracted above lies this gem, the reason for Obummer’s interest in this issue:

The creation of clear standards — especially if there is widespread adoption — may help create a market for cybersecurity insurance, officials said. Before insurance underwriters issue a policy, they would have to ensure that firms had met the standards.

So not only does he pay off more of his cronies in the insurance industry à la Obummercare, but he also “creates jobs.” What an utter sleazebag.
