Our Free Economy Valued Over $1 Trillion!

This article from Alternet seems to lament the “need” for people to serve each other and themselves outside of the state. This free, voluntary, and tax free way of living and producing was estimated at 8% of the GDP in 2009, no doubt given the situation today is far greater, far more vibrant. It includes, “…all sorts of work that doesn’t get regulated by the government or reported to the IRS” and “costs” the “revenuers” over $600 billion each year in “revenue.” Reminds me of the Aesop’s fable about the sun and the wind, competing to see which can get the traveler to take off his coat. If government, as Washington said, is force, then liberty is both heat and light, gently, kindly, and generously unstoppable.
