‘Opting Out’ of TSA?

Instead of state and local governments — and airports —transferring the federal groping business to private firms or state agencies, what about a state legislature enacting a measure designed to do what these people like to pretend they do, namely, protect people from assaults?  What about a statute that read: “No resident of this state shall be required to submit to any forcible inspection or touching of his or her body within the boundaries of this state”?

Such a provision would separate the principled libertarians from those who see this issue as little more than an opportunity to engage in political grandstanding.  It would also be an important  step in the cause of nullification.
