Laurence:  C-SPAN had coverage a few days ago of a congressional hearing, at which retired Admiral Richard Mies was testifying. Mies was the former Commander in Chief (1998-2001) of the U.S. Strategic Command located outside Omaha (where the big nuclear bombers are headquartered).  On the lapel of his business suit was a good-sized Christian cross, with stars and stripes covering it.
