One last word…

…on the short skirt question. I don’t see how it’s suddenly “Puritan” not to like a fashion that people who are still alive today can remember being held in disrepute. That seems almost Orwellian. It’s like calling Pat Buchanan an “extremist” for holding views that the entire civilized world held just forty years ago. Quite a few Catholic sources can be cited on this, by the way, so it’s a little silly to say that I’m part of some kind of creeping Puritanism in American Catholicism. Good grief!

For what was supposed to be a throwaway line — which, by the way, remains true: no leftist two generations ago would have been caught dead in what “right-winger” Coulter proudly wears — I’m doing more writing than I’d planned. But just to show that this isn’t some weird thing I dreamed up, here’s what the Church has said on the subject. That’s all I plan to say on this.
