What a delight to come across today at Mises.org the wonderful article, “Rereading Our Enemy, The State,” by Cecil Palmer. Palmer was the author of The British Socialist Ill-Fare State, published in the year of my birth. I have long treasured my personal copy of his little-known libertarian masterpiece, regarding its very title as one of the cleverest I have come across. Read this great review and then both the Nock and Palmer books if you haven’t before.
