OK, Krugman Didn’t Say It, at Least THIS Time

Paul Krugman has been the victim of a forgery, and the perpetrator “confesses.” I have commentary here. The interesting thing to me was that a lot of people, including Krugman supporters, found themselves easily believing that Krugman HAD made that kind of statement.

Why? Because he has said similar things in the past, including making the claim that the Japanese earthquake and tsunami could have economic “expansionary” effects. The moral of the story is that if one does not wish to have “Broken Window Fallacy” statements attached to one’s name, perhaps one should not tout such nonsense in the first place.
