From a veteran on Veterans Day:
I tried calling up the VA to schedule an appointment today. After 10+ rings a woman gets on the line and I say I want to set up an appointment with my doctor. She says everything is shut down today because of veteran’s day. end of call. I can’t decide if it’s fitting or ironic that the VA is closed on “Veteran’s Day.” Private businesses offer freebies and discounts today to veterans. The Government? The VA? Well, they just don’t help you: “thanks for your service.”
