It may be part of their job description, but it is still sickening to see all the talking heads on cable giddy over the killing and destruction in Libya. So much fun. They must also like the presidential dictatorship taken to a new level, as Obama—after Flying Down to Rio—casually mentions that he has “authorized” an attack by the US military on Libya, after the CIA’s color revolution set up the excuse. This time, there is not even a pretense of seeking permission from the rubber-stamp legislature. For Obama, killing civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen—not to mention soldiers defending their country from a foreign invader, as it would be styled under other circumstances—sheds even more blood so the US can take over the oil in Libya. The hypocrite’s empire expands.
