I applaud the president for advocating real tax reform that all lovers of liberty can support. And no, I am not joking. In his speech to the nation on Monday night, Obama said: “In fact, I want to extend the payroll tax cut for working families.” This is a great idea. And in this respect, Obama is more of a tax cutter than Reagan, who raised the payroll tax more than once. Do I have any praise for the president on anything else. No, absolutely not. But I do applaud him for being, at least in this instance, a tax cutter.
