Obama Moderate on Iran?

Obama “sounds” more moderate on Iran is the right word to use, Laurence. But only in comparison to those who would bomb Iran immediately. But is he moderate in his demands on an absolute scale? No. Obama expresses reluctance to attack Iran, but his stated position is that he will attack under certain conditions and that Iran must buckle under in the face of all military options being open. Obama’s public “reluctance” will be a useful political crutch for him if and when he attacks or green lights an Israeli attack, and it is a very useful political tool at present in order to separate himself from the Republican pack and picture them as irresponsible warmongers. Obama’s reluctance comes down only to a difference in time. Some months in the future if sanctions do not work, he will attack.

But things are looking up slightly, because Iran has just agreed to let Parchin be inspected and new talks are getting off the ground. Iran has for now taken the wind out of the warmonger’s sails.
