I am happy to report that President Obama, under pressure of course, has withdrawn his proposal to virtually eliminate all of the tax benefits of the 529 education plan that I mentioned in my recent article, “Obama’s Tax Proposals: A Libertarian Analysis.”
Get to work Republicans. Obama proposed a $500 tax credit for families in which both spouses work. Write a short standalone bill, pass it, and put it on the president’s desk tomorrow. Tell him that since he proposed it he should sign it immediately. Get busy Republicans. Do something good for a change. And while you are at it, pass a bill to repeal the upcoming Daylight Saving Time that is supposed to begin on March 8.
