During his rise to power, no one could look into Obama’s record because that was bigoted. But why wasn’t it clear that he was a Chicago machine pol? The late Mayor Daley, founder of the current incarnation of the machine, practiced diversity before diversity was cool. Representatives of every group got their time at the trough, so there have always been important black politicians in Chicago, along with the Irish, the Serbs, the Poles, etc. The machine to this day runs not only the city government, but the state too. Now I’ll admit that old-fashioned machine politics can look almost benign compared to the empire’s, but still it’s corrupt, coercive, and vicious, i.e. governmental. The Daley machine had its first president in John F. Kennedy, for whom the dead voted in legions. Bill Clinton was their guy too, and now they have another made man about to take power. Change.
