Please, spare us that sop to your colleagues. If he does win, people will be dragging out your old quotes to embarrass you later. (Count on it!)
Do you use that stipulation when writing about the other candidates?
Look, Ron is fifth in the polls out of ten candidates. He’s probably third in money, first on the web, first in volunteers. There’s simply no need to apologize for writing about him. Your colleagues who rib you now will have to apologize to you later.
