No, Anthony, No!

You’ve got to get up to date with the demands of “Newthink.” In the age of Empire, it is not beneficial for Americans to hate members of any other nationality/ethnic group/religion. Indeed — as I developed in my Calculated Chaos book — it is not hate, but love, that drives political systems: one must have such an intense love for one’s own nation-state that he or she is prepared to engage in any form of viciousness against outsiders. For the American Empire to metastasize throughout the globe, it is necessary to have a mindset flexible enough to shift from one enemy to another on cue. The conditioning is reinforced at international sporting events, with flag-waving Americans chanting the mantra: “U.S.A.! U.S.A.! We’re Number One! We’re Number One!”

When I was a child, I was told that Germany and Japan were my “enemies,” while Russia and China were my “friends.” Two years after that war ended, the roles were reversed: Germany and Japan were now my “friends,” while Russia and China were my new-found “enemies.” Few minds caught the insanity inherent in such manipulation, leaving the state free to continue applying it. Today’s “enemy” can be anyone useful to the political establishment to so label, it being the role of government officials, the mainstream media, and so-called “think tanks,” to so designate. Boobus need not be convinced of any factual or rational basis for the choice of a new adversary: it is enough that he be told to adjust his thinking, and to shout “hurrah!” upon command.
