Nifong, the Predictable One

Today is the court day for Moezeldin Elmostafa, the cab driver who had the audacity to tell people that Reade Seligmann was one of his passengers that night when DA Michael Nifong claims Seligmann was merrily raping and choking Crystal Gail Mangum in Durham. Yes, it seems that Elmostafa was able to point out that Seligmann was with him precisly at the time when Nifong claims the lad was in the bathroom raping Mangum.

Needless to say, this has proved to be difficult for Nifong, who realizes that a person cannot be in two places at one time. An ethical, honest person would look at the evidence and conclude that Seligmann was not capable of being in two places at one time. What to do? Try to make the exculpatory evidence disappear. (In other words, promote a lie.)

Nifong had Elmostafa arrested on a three-year-old warrant that apparently in itself is a false charge. Moreover, the Durham police had their “top” investigator on the case, not to mention that the police did a thorough inspection of all Elmostafa’s records.

If you wish to understand just what an outrage this whole thing really is, read the article I have linked. Yet, the mainstream journalists, including editors and the like, just pretend this is another day at the office.

When Elmostafa first gave a public interview, I blogged in this space that Nifong would try to manufacture charges against him and generally engage in harassment. On cue, Mr. “Liefong” sprang into action. Another day in the “justice” annals of Amerika.
