“Newsweek’s” Evan Thomas surprised me with this passage: “By definition, establishments believe in propping up the existing order. Members of the ruling class have a vested interest in keeping things pretty much the way they are.” He went on to discuss the importance of “safeguarding the status quo, [and] protecting traditional institutions.”
What startled me was how much these words echoed the essence of my 1985 book, “Calculated Chaos.” It’s encouraging.
