The anxious drumbeat continues, as the bipartisan War Party fears American voters might drain the trough it wallows in. Hence it is “lunacy” for Ron Paul to consider the Pakistanis as human beings who might sensibly resent being bombed by American Predators and secret hit squads.
What stiff-necked primitives! Why, Pakistanis should rejoice that Imperial America cares enough about that backward country full of ingrates to spend billions of its precious taxpayer dollars to defend Pakistan’s precious democracy.
Mencken would undoubtedly be the consensus neocon choice for Secretary of State in the next administration: “Exporting Democracy is the theory that the Pakistanis know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”
