Neocons & Gender Feminists

Norm & Wendy, the Gender feminists and the neocons are already, and have been for some time, joined at the hip (as it were) over the “liberation” of oppressed wymin in benighted foreign places. Just as the human rights crowd has both been snookered and been willing participants in the neocon agenda, feminists concerned at the “horrors of foreign patriarchy” (particularly the Islamic kind, which agitates some overly excited secular intellectuals beyond their ability to control themselves, and twists them all out of shape even worse than mere Pentecostalism or Fundamentalism do) have been happy to embrace American arms as the best way to “liberate” people since His Ridiculous Highness made it his goal to eradicate Eeee-vil four years ago.

(BTW, anyone have any idea how that struggle to end eeee-vil is going?)

Paul Wolfowitz himself was, apparently, convinced that Islamists would never gain power in Iraq because women, who would make up as majority of the Iraqi electorate, would never vote “against their interests” for a party that would clearly “oppress” them. No talk of culture, of religion, of tradition, of ideas, just gender — that’s all that constituted the “interests” of women in Iraq.
