I appreciated Anthony’s post and read the article in The Nation on why the left needs more socialism. It is pretty typical of the left to depricate markets without showing a whit of understanding of markets or what happens within a market economy. Furthermore, it is obvious that the “new socialists” have no understanding of what occurs in socialism.

Not once in this article does the author actually discuss the realities of socialism or why socialist economies break down. Instead, we are left with the notion that socialism is the victim of a propaganda campaign.
