Nasty Charlie

In France, where the wrong offensive comment can land you in jail for 4 years or longer, some forms of hate–anti-Catholic and anti-Islamic–are officially lauded. More and more people realize that secret truth. Here’s Christopher Booker on another: the profoundly unfunny and even stupid nature of Charlie Hebdo. Booker was the first editor of Private Eye, an actual journal of satire. I was an American subscriber. Oh, and thanks to David Gordon for pointing  out that the cartoons of Charlie are extremely reminiscent of the US underground newspapers of hippie days.
