My hunch is that the mudslinging in South Carolina will help John McCain who is already leading in the polls there. It will create a sympathy vote as the media highlights how McCain was previously victimized in 2000.
If McCain wins there, he’s the establishment’s presumptive favorite for the nomination and then becomes an easy target for the Revolution. “We have not yet begun to fight” sums it up.
Having two concrete opponents, Hillary and McCain, as opposed to running against some fuzzy wuzzy “perfect candidate” will help Ron Paul because as my father always said, “every election is a choice.” And what a clear choice that will present.
